Despite the weather being rather gloomy at the moment, we can’t wait for the sunshine to make an appearance in a few months so we can sit outside and enjoy a delicious fruity cocktail or two. If you’re stuck for something to do on a rainy day, why not make a DIY mini-bar. It’s so much cheaper making one yourself. Once you have built your bar cart it’s time to fill it up!
By using our discount codes for The Bottle Club, you can save so much money when buying wines, spirits, and barware. The Bottle Club is the place for adventurous drinkers offering some of the highest quality wine, spirits, beers and ciders in the United Kingdom.
Going out for drinks every weekend can get very expensive so creating your own at home bar is a fantastic way to save. It’s perfect for date nights, dinner parties and special occasions. Here are some of our saving tips on how to create your own mini-bar on a budget:
Barware
The Bottle Club offers some great pieces of bar ware that are high-quality, stylish and budget friendly. To help you save as much money as possible, you must only buy what is necessary. If you’re a cocktail making novice then you won’t get a lot of use out of a 20 piece cocktail making set. Instead, opt for something more simple such as The Bottle Club’s three piece cocktail set.
The same thing goes for glassware. It’s nice to have every kind of glass to put your fancy homemade cocktails in but if you’re only going to be making drinks for 2 people then it seems crazy to spend a fortune on 7, 482 different glasses. The classic copper martini glasses and copper moscow mule glasses would be a perfect place to start.
Keep your eyes peeled for the best deals
If you’re keen on saving money then you must know where to look for the best deals. Codes.co.uk is updated daily with the best and latest discount codes and vouchers. The Bottle Club always has fantastic deals ranging from up to 20% off to free delivery. 20% off makes a huge difference when it comes to re-filling your bar cart with champagne and spirits.
Buying in bulk is also a great way to save. The Bottle Club offers wine cases which are of course cheaper to buy compared to buying just the one bottle. Make sure to look out for seasonal offers too. There tends to be more deals around Christmas, Halloween and summer so this is also a great time to re-stock if you’re running low on cocktail essentials.
Follow simple recipes
You could easily go crazy buying every type of whisky, vodka and rum but if you want to save your pennies, you need to buy only the essentials. It’s a good idea to look at cocktail recipes online to see what the typical cocktail ingredients are. There are plenty of vodka cocktails such as cosmopolitans, martinis and bloody Mary’s and also a lot of white rum cocktails like piña coladas, mojitos and daiquiris so it would be a good idea to start from here.
